世界で2番目に国立公園を設けた国.~
(北島)~
-トンガリロ国立公園 Tongariro National Park ~
ニュージーランドの最初の国立公園（1887年設立）~
先住民のマオリ族が自分たちの聖地をヨーロッパ人の侵略から守るため、土地を国に提供したもので、世界で4番目に古い国立公園｡~
3つの活火山、ルアペフ山、ナウルホエ山 、トンガリロ山が含まれる。~
-テ・ウレウェラ国立公園 Te Urewera National Park ~
隣の Whirinaki Forest Park 共に北島の最大な原生林の残存する地域である。~
公園内に景色のいい海岸線として知られるワイカレモアナ湖（Lake Waikaremoana）がある。~
-エグモント国立公園 Egmont National Park ~
タラナキ山　Mount Taranaki/Egmont　山頂の半径9 km 及び北部の一部の地域から成る。~
-ファンガヌイ国立公園 Whanganui National Park ~
（1986年設立、742 km²）はワンガヌイ川（Whanganui River）に隣接している。~

-アベル・タスマン国立公園 Abel Tasman National Park ~
ニュージーランドで最も小さな国立公園225 km²。~
タスマン湾Tasman Bay の海岸沿いの黄金砂のビーチがあることで有名。~

起伏の多い山岳地帯にある。~

ニュージーランドで2番目に大きな国立公園4,520 km²。~
