*バーンズカントリー Burns Country [#x9073294]
-詩人ロバート・バーンズはエアー南方のスコットランド南西部、サウス・エアシャー州の首都エアの南方にあるアロウェイという村で生まれた。~
-彼が愛した故郷であるこの地域は「バーンズカントリー」と呼ばれている。「農民詩人」と呼ばれ、土地に根付いた詩を生み出した彼のバックボーンとなるところだ。~
-バーンズカントリーの人々もまた、バーンズの詩や人生を愛してやまない。彼が改作して広めたスコットランド民謡はいろいろな場面で口ずさまれている。~
-彼の誕生日である1月25日前後には「バーンズ・ナイト」と呼ばれるユニークな夕食会が各地で催される。~
バグパイプの音色とともにスコットランドの伝統料理ハギスが運ばれ、バーンズの『ハギスに捧げる詩』が朗読された後に切り分けられる。kbt~
