*アポロニア遺跡 Apollonia [#d4512186]
小高い丘のアクロポリスが残るかっての港町~
-キュレーネの遺跡の北方約20kｍ。~
-地中海に面し、キュレーネの外港として建設され、後に港町として栄えペンタポリスのひとつとなった。~
-現在はスーサの町の一部になっており、遺跡の西側に市街がある。~
-ギリシア人の入植から始まり、エジプトのプトレマイオス朝の庇護を受け発展た町は、ローマ支配下においてもこの地域の特産物の輸出港として繁栄を続けた。~
-4世紀に起こった大地震により、市街の北側が水没してしまった。~
-港の部分は現在は海の中に沈んでおり、地上に残っているのは、6世紀にビザンティン帝国によって再建された部分が中心になる。~
-海岸近くに教会やビザンティン帝国の知事が居住した宮殿跡が点在する。~
-1世紀に建設されたローマ時代の浴場も波打ち際に残っている。~
-東部にはプトレマイオス朝時代の野外劇場跡がある。kj~
